Varsity Boys Outdoor Track
|Date:||April 18, 2017|
The boys started out the season with a Tri-Meet with Wethersfield and Rocky Hill. The size of the teams really affected this meet as Wethersfield brought over 100 kids to the meet. Despite the large field of athletes, several athletes qualified for the state meet and the boys started the season at 1-1.
Matt Luddy jumped 6-0 to qualify for the second year in a row, and Dan Labbadia threw 166 ft in the Javelin to qualify for the states with the current state leading throw. Dan is chasing after the school record held by Brad Olson, set in 1976 and our oldest records that is still in the books. Mitch Maslowski also quailified in the 100 and 200 at the meet and is closing in on the school records in those two events.
Our young distance group performed well and is improving every day. Our experience lies in the jumps, sprints and throws while our distance runners are all freshmen and sophomores.
