Feed Our Friends Food Drive According to the Connecticut food bank, nearly half a million Connecticut residents struggle with hunger. 127,000 of Connecticut’s children are food insecure. Please consider helping our neighbors by contributing to our Feed Our Friends Food Drive. Donations can be dropped off in the main lobby between 7:10 and 7:20 am from Thursday, November 2nd through Thursday, November 16th. Thank you for your assistance.
University of St. Joseph Visit There will be a representative from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford in the School Counseling Office on Friday, November 3rd at 10:30. If you are interested in learning more about this University, please stop by the counseling office for a pass to visit with them.
Berlin Parks and Rec The Berlin Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for basketball referees for the boys and girls 3rd through 8th grade programs on Saturdays. You must be at least 15 years old. The program starts in December. Applications can be obtained from the Parks and Recreation Department or on the Town website. Deadline to apply is Friday, November 10th by 1:00 pm.
School Store DECA members and the school store will be selling items during lunch periods this week. Stop by to place your $8.00 pre-order for a dozen Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. In addition, students will be selling a new school store item, the Sweatshirt Blanket for $25.00. This month's Red Corner School Promotion is: Bundle Up (Sweatshirt Blanket + Winter Hat = $25.00).
Cabaret The BHS Music Department presents Cabaret - An Evening of Show Tunes this Saturday, November 4th, at 7:00 pm in the BHS auditorium. Students have been rehearsing since September, and are excited to show off their singing and dancing talents! The box office opens at 6:15 pm; tickets are $8 for general admission. A dessert table and silent auction will also be featured. Proceeds benefit the spring musical.
Upbeat Meeting The next Upbeat meeting is Monday, November 6, 2017 in the BHS Cafe. Pizza will be served at 5:15. Hope to see you all there.
Empty Bowls The first meeting of the school year will take place on Wednesday, November 8th at 2:15 in Room 1700. Come learn about the upcoming event and all the great plans we have for this year!
Veterans Day Volunteers There will be a Veterans Day program on November 9 here at BHS which starts at 7PM. Student volunteers are needed. This will be a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the great sacrifices of the men and women who have served this nation. Please see Mr. Cronk for details in Room 1106.
