Lunch for The Redcoat - by Hannah Schulz
Construction is finally over at BHS and students/staff are excited to personalize and make the building their own. With the start of a new school year, there was a buzz in the cafeteria surrounding four large paintings and a clay mosaic that were mounted on the walls of the cafe. These works of art were created, by 5 BHS students, at the close of last school year, and installed over the summer. The paintings are 48” x 72” and were inspired by the work of renaissance artist, Giuseppe Arcimboldo (1527‐1593), best known for portraits made from produce, flowers, twigs and the like. One of his series of works - "The Four Seasons." was given a "fresh" interpretation by four AP Studio Art students: Gabriel Dombrowski, Donald Roski, Noah Neault and Annalise Gormley. In addition, the Berlin Redcoat Man was given a mosaic makeover, by AP Studio Art 3-d student, Hannah Schulz, also following the theme of fresh produce.
