Janice has been a teacher at McGee School for 12 years. She taught science in Grade 7 for two years, science in Grade 8 for nine years, and STEAM for one year. She presents science and STEAM curriculum with a contagious enthusiasm. She motivates students to learn with creative games, experiments, and collaborative projects all in the context of real-life scenarios. She is highly-sensitive to her students’ academic, social and emotional needs. Janice has actively served on the McGee Technology Committee, district Vertical Alignment Team, District Rounds Committee, and she represented the district at monthly CREC Interdistrict Science Council meetings. She also served as a cooperating teacher and mentor for several student teachers at McGee. Outside of McGee, Janice has volunteered extensively in the community. She has sewed for the prom dress give away, judged for LEGO League competitions, worked at the Liver Foundation dinner, wrapped presents for the troops, and worked at local events like the Vinny Fisher benefit. Janice works tirelessly to excel in her role as a teacher, mentor, and advocate for students, colleagues, and the community.
