Madrigal Singers Auditions Students who are interested in auditioning for this year's Madrigal Singers should see Mr. Boyle for audition materials. Auditions are on Monday, September 17th at 6:30 pm. Please see Mr. Boyle for materials or with questions.
DECA School Store The DECA School store is now open in the mornings from 7:00 to 7:20 AM. All items are on sale until the end of September. For every purchase, receive a free gift! In addition, please feel free to make recommendations to our staff of items you would like to purchase from our store in the near future. Thank you for your support.
DECA Business Club DECA Business Club will hold their first meeting on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in room 1404 from 2:15 PM - 2:45 PM. All new members are welcome to join. Please see Mr. Parisi in room 1205 or Mrs. Wischert in room 1404 with any questions that you may have.
Homecoming Committee The Homecoming Committee will be meeting on Thursday, September 13th at 2:15 p.m. in Rm 2302 with Ms. Gagnon. This year, the Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, October 20th. We will start brainstorming themes for the dance at this meeting.
Newspaper Club Are you looking for a new club to join? The first meeting of the Redcoat Review (our school newspaper) will take place on Thursday, September 20th at 2:15 in the Library Media Center. We are looking for students who may be interested in writing, photography, drawing, and/or graphic design. All are welcome to attend! Please see Mrs. Rice or Mrs. Glass with any questions.
Dance Team Anyone interested in auditioning for the Dance Team, please come dressed and ready to dance: Tuesday, September 11 2:15-3:15 meet in the media center; Wednesday, September 12 2:15-3:15; Thursday, September 13 2:15-3:15. **You must attend TWO of the THREE audition dates (you are welcome to come to all 3)** If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Mayette (1505) or Miss Herrera (2110).
After School Academy The After School Academy will be open for business on Monday, September 17th. All are welcome to come to room 2117 for help with organization, study strategies, writing assignments, long term projects, and any and all homework or class assignments! Tutors will be available to assist you from 2:30 - 4:30 pm, Mondays through Thursdays. Looking forward to making this a successful year for all!
BHS Tech xPerts Any students looking to be part of the BHS Tech Xperts independent study this year please email Mrs. Niro at firstname.lastname@example.org or come see her in the library. The BHS Tech xPerts are a group of students that receive credit while learning more about technology, helping others, and working on technology projects that will help technology here at BHS and in the district. Feel free to stop in the library to learn more if you have questions.
Student Tutoring Service An informational meeting will be held on Monday, September 17th (both before and after school) for potential tutors; only upperclassmen may volunteer as tutors. The meeting will be held in Mrs. Piecewicz's room.
Financial Aid Program for Seniors A Financial Aid Program will be hosted by the BHS School Counseling Department on Tuesday, October 2 at 6:30 pm in the Video Amp. The program will cover all aspects of financial aid, including important tips for filling out the FAFSA. Seniors and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend.
Organization/Time Management Workshop Do you have the necessary organization, time management, and study skills to find success in academics and life? If you are looking for proven strategies, you and your parent/guardian are encouraged to attend a workshop presented by Success Prep Partners on Wednesday, September 26 at 6:30 pm in the BHS Video Amp. Contact Mrs. Pires in the school counseling office with questions.
Model UN Club The Model UN club has an exciting opportunity to visit the United Nations in New York City, meeting ambassadors from different countries, and participate in a conference at the University of Hartford with schools from across the State. Please stop by room 1106 and see Mr. Cronk for more details.
Unified Sports Anyone interested in participating on the Unified Sports team, please see Mrs. Siegal in the Main Office.
Bike Club The Berlin High School Bike Club will start rides on Sept 13th. You must have a parent permission slip signed and turned in before you can ride. You do not need a bike or a helmet. We will supply one for you. You are welcome to bring your own bike if you would like. We will start out riding shorter distances and gradually increase to more challenging rides. You do not need any experience. You just need a little motivation. This is a super supportive group that will ride and stay together - No one will be left behind. Anyone interested must see Mr Arnold or Mr Hanna for a parent permission slip.
