District News & Events
Dear Willard Volunteers,
By the time you receive this notice, your children will have completed nearly ninety percent of the school year. This leaves us with about six weeks to fulfill our fundamental purpose of providing direct instruction, opportunities for practice, and measuring the degree of progress toward grade level expectations in all academic disciplines.
We recognize that our work has not been completed in isolation and would like to thank the many parents and volunteers who have dedicated their time and effort to our students. Just a few examples of ways that volunteers have made a difference include; supporting literacy centers, sight word and math fact flashcard practice, acting as members of the parent – teacher organization, working in the reading department, publishing center and library.
In an effort to show appreciation of our volunteers, we will hold a breakfast on Wednesday, June 10 in the cafeteria at 9:00a.m. Additionally, a parade through the school will follow at 9:15a.m. to celebrate and honor anyone who has volunteered in any capacity at Willard School this year.
In closing, it has been said that “Volunteers don’t necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.” We know you have the heart and hope our volunteers can find the time to join us.
