Musicals & Drama
BHS offers several opportunities for students to explore stage performance.
Drama Club: The BHS Drama club meets every Thursday when school is in session for students to work on various acting skills including improv, scene development, and monologues. Everyone is always welcome to watch/participate/or just hang out. Come and go as you please. The Drama club also hosts the fall play every year in November.
Berlin Improv Team: Chomping at the BIT" with the following description - "Chomping at the BIT was created in 2013 to allow students the opportunity to hone their improv skills. While we encompass all aspects of improv, we focus on long form improv scenes. Students must audition for this troupe. Auditions take place at the beginning of each year.
The Musical Production: Each spring, the Perfoming Arts department stages a Musical Production. Previous productions include: Sound of Music, Bye Bye Birdie, South Pacific, Mame, and other broadway classics. These are large scale productions with a cast and crew of over 50. Tryouts are required.
Senior Class Play: Each spring, the senior class produces a play casted only of seniors. The play is a fundraiser for the senior class, and provides all seniors, many with no previous experience in acting, a chance to perform on stage. The productions range from serious to farscical.
