Cameron Zup

Grade 1, Miss. Schultz

Cameron arrives to school everyday ready to learn. He comes in and greets his peers and adults with a big smile on his face. In the beginning of the year, Cameron focused on making good choices to help him build a strong work ethic. Now, it’s evident that he has the foundation needed to continue to soar in first grade. In reading and math, Cameron can be found persevering through challenging words or tricky story problems. All of Cameron’s teachers comment on how much he has already grown this year! As a friend, he always goes out of his way to make sure that all of his friends feel included. He is quick to give them compliments and cheer them on! A few of Cameron’s favorites at Willard include Writer’s Workshop where he gets to illustrate his pieces of writing and PE class, where he gets to play Dr. Dodge Ball. In his free time, Cameron loves to play tag with his dad! We are excited to see him continue to succeed and grow as a learner!

Mya Lamoureux

Grade 4, Mrs. Burnham

Mya is an outstanding member of both the Willard community and Mrs. Burnham's fourth grade classroom. She works to include others on a daily basis and makes sure every student feels that they are an important part of our community. She always has a kind word to say and a welcoming smile on her face. She works hard on academic tasks and perseveres when something is difficult for her. Mya enjoys being challenged academically by her teacher, her classmates, and herself. She consistently demonstrates her Willard Pride at all times. A few of Mya’s favorites at Willard include Reader’s Workshop where she gets to read a variety of texts and art class, where she gets to be creative and artistic with her pieces. In her free time, Mya loves to play basketball and in the future, would like to be a Veterinarian, as she loves all kinds of animals. We are very proud of all that Mya has accomplished this year and cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings!

Avery Wethje

Grade 2, Miss Marino

Avery is an outstanding student and individual. She is a kind and respectful friend to all her classmates and respectful to all staff at Willard Elementary School. Whenever she can help classmates, Avery jumps right in and supports however she can. Avery has a positive outlook towards learning and is always up for a new challenge and learning task. She is a hard worker and takes her academic life very seriously. A few favorites about Avery would include writing being her favorite subject because she loves to write stories, music being her favorite special because she loves to sing, and she wants to be a swim teacher in the future because she loves swimming and working with people. We are looking forward to watching Avery continue to learn and grow in second grade!
