Redcoat Review Meeting Redcoat Review Staff - We will have a final meeting on Thursday, November 30 at 2:15 in the Library near the Mac computers. We will be finalizing issue 1. Please also begin thinking about story ideas for issue 2.


Connecticut High School History Council This fall, the Connecticut Public Affairs Network (CPAN) will pilot the Connecticut High School History Council, which will be made up of students from all around the state who share a passion for history and civics and want to create constructive change. Interested students are invited to a statewide Civic Ambassadors Summit on December 2 which will provide information and training for civic participation. A formal CT High School History Council meeting is planned for Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 4:00pm at Connecticut's Old State House in Hartford. Please see Dr. Bosso for more information.


SAT Prep Course SAT Prep Course Registration for the spring SATs is now underway! Please see Mrs. Pacyna in the School Counseling office for your registration form and more information. Don't Delay! Do it today! Class size is limited to 25 students!


CT DMV Teen Safe Driving Video Contest The 10th annual Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)-Travelers Teen Safe Driving Video Contest is underway and the deadline has been extended to March 1, 2018. Students are asked to create a video public service announcement using this year’s theme, “Teen Safe Driver: Could This Be You? Every Second Matters.” The contest is open to Connecticut high school students only. Travelers is offering up to $26,000 in prizes to the winning schools and students, including a new $2,000 award that will go to the school with the most entries to the contest. Apparel Sale Hosted by the Class of 2020 Looking for a gift idea either to give or receive? The Class of 2020 is hosting an apparel sale. Items include 1/4 zip sweatshirt, long-sleeve tee shirt, and sweatpants. Order forms will be posted in the red zones and outside office 12C. To receive your order before the winter break turn them in by Monday December 4th, otherwise we will be collecting forms until December 20th and the items will be in after the winter break. Cash or check (payable to the Class of 2020) is required with your order. Please see Miss Cassello or Mrs. Smith with any questions.


DECA-BHB Wristbands Available The DECA Business Club in conjunction with Berlin Helping Berlin (BHB) is now selling Berlin High School wristbands for $2.00. One dollar from every wristband sold will be donated to BHB. Stop by the School Store and support a great cause, or pick one up in the Cafeteria during lunch, starting next week.


The Upbeat Room will be closed during period 2 today.


DECA Meeting There is a DECA meeting after school today for school play volunteers only. The next meeting for all DECA members will be held after school on Thursday, December 7th in Mrs. Wischert’s room.


Upbeat Meeting The next Upbeat meeting will be Monday, December 4, 2017 in the BHS Cafe. Pizza will be served at 5:15pm. Hope to see everyone there.


Class Rings Balfour will be here on Friday, December 1st to distribute class rings to students that placed an order; they will be outside the cafeteria during lunch waves.


BHS Drama Fall Play Coming Soon! The Drama Club's annual fall production on the BHS stage is coming! And we are inviting you to come out and see us Dec 1 - 3rd as we present John Cariani's play: "Almost, Maine". Tickets are on sale now at almostmaine.ludus.com and are $8 for students and $10 for adults. We hope to see many of you there as we tour through a little town in Northern Maine. Cast Ons Looking for a way to keep warm during the winter months? Are you interested in learning how to knit or crochet? If so, please join the "Cast Ons" on Friday mornings at 6:45, in room 2302 with Ms. Gagnon. You can learn how to knit or crochet a scarf, hat and/or blanket. Please bring yarn and knitting needles or a crochet hook. If you have any questions about what to bring, please see me. Students and staff are welcome!
