BHS Sophomore Juliana Cancellieri set a new PR with a time of 19:59 at the New England XC Championships Saturday Nov 11th, in Belfast Maine. Juliana became one of only 3 BHS female runners, to ever break the 20 minute barrier on a certified 5k course, and established herself as one of the top runners in the Northeast.
Julia also took third place at the Class M XC meet helping Berlin to a second place finish in the State Class M standings.
The Lady Redcoat Soccer team is headed to the State Fiinal on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury.
The Lady Redcoat Soccer team defeated, #1 ranked, Lewis Mills 2-1 on penalty kicks Tuesday night at Middletown HS. The game was exciting to the end with the goalkeepers making several great saves in regulation and in the penalty kick round. In the end Julia Sisti's penalty kick won the game for the Redcoats who will face #2 Granby in the State Final. The game will play this Saturday 11/18, 1pm at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury. There will be a student Fan-Bus which will leave at 12:00 from BHS. Students must bring permission slips to the office and the first 70 students will be accepted. The permission slip must be turned in to save your spot on the bus.
The bus will be leaving Berlin High School at 12:00 pm and returning at approximately 3:15 pm (assuming no overtime). Students will need a permission slip to ride the bus (attached), or you may pick up a permission slip in the athletic office. In order to get an accurate count, permission slips must be turned in by the end of school on Friday. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at https://gofan.co/CIAC (there are no additional service charges for tickets purchased online).
Meeting for girls interested in playing basketball, Tuesday Nov. 21.
There will be a mandatory meeting for all girls interested in trying out for basketball on Tuesday, November, 21 in room 2401 at 5:00. See Coach King if you have any questions.
